Telecritical Care Medicine Section

Hello TCC Section Members!

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Carrie L. Griffiths, PharmD, BCCCP, FCCM, an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Salisbury Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. My professional areas of interest include tele-pharmacy/ICU/telehealth, infectious diseases, and toxicology.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology/Pre-Med and Spanish and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky. I then spent 3 years in Seoul, South Korea teaching Business English for Samsung and returned to school and graduated with aDoctor of Pharmacy degree from Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina. I completed a PGY-1 residency at the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System in Temple, Texas and a PGY-2 residency specializing in critical care from the VA North Texas Healthcare System in Dallas, Texas. After completion of these residencies, I joined Wingate University School of Pharmacy and practiced with Atrium Health as a Tele-Critical Care Pharmacist. I am a Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist. 

I am an active member of many professional organizations including NCAP, ASHP, ACCP, and SCCM, where I have been appointed to national committees. In 2019, I was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. In addition, I currently serves on the Board of Pharmacy Specialty Council on Critical Care Pharmacy andI am active in the Carolinas Virginias Chapter of SCCM.

For the section, I will be working with the Education Committee as their MAL (aka liaison between this committee and the Steering Committee). I look forward to working with you all to make this a great section!
