Hello, my name is Nasim Motayar. I completed my Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Following my fellowship, I joined faculty at Louisiana State University Health Science Center Shreveport, where I served as Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine, Staff Intensivist, and Director of Telecritical Care Medicine.
My focus lies in understanding factors that hinder delivery of high-quality care to critically ill patients and developing systematic approaches to address them through the utilization of teams and technology. During my tenure at LSU I accomplished my goal of increasing access to quality care in rural regions through successful expansion of the eICU program. I am now joining faculty at Cleveland Clinic's Department of Critical Care and Intensive Care and Resuscitation, aiming to further transform the care of critically ill patients through research, education, and the provision of high-quality care.
Additionally, driven by my passion for research and epidemiology, I am pursuing a Master's in Public Health at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health with a focus in biostatistics and epidemiology. I recently led a multi-center national study through SCCM’s telecritical care committee, evaluating clinician training and its impact on delivery of care, with the goal of informing future practice guidelines. As the Chair of Research for the Telecritical Care Section, I hope to advance knowledge through interdisciplinary research and foster innovation by creating an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages multi-center collaboration to produce data that enhances our understanding of this field and contribute to developing practice guidelines for the field of Tele-Critical Care Medicine.
