Benjamin Njoku, BSN, RN, CCRN

Benjamin Njoku is a seasoned nursing professional based in Bronx, NY, with over a decade of experience in the dynamic world of healthcare. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hunter College and an Associate degree in nursing from Hostos Community College, Benjamin's journey in nursing has been marked by progressive leadership roles, clinical excellence, and a steadfast commitment to quality patient care.

Currently, Benjamin serves as the Assistant Director of Nursing at New York City Health and Hospitals, Lincoln, where he collaborates closely with the Chief Nursing Officer, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, managing resources, and fostering strong relationships with healthcare leaders. His previous roles, spanning from a Staff Nurse in Medical ICU/CCU to Head Nurse in the Surgical ICU, showcase his versatility and dedication to excellence. Under his leadership, the Surgical ICU was recognized for its adherence to standards with zero findings during a Joint Commission survey in 2021 and awarded for Nursing excellence the same year.

Beyond his clinical and administrative roles, Benjamin's passion for quality and patient safety is evident. He was honored with the Award for Excellence in Nursing consecutively in 2021 and 2022. His significant contribution to the Quality Assurance Process Improvement initiative that reduced CAUTI rates by 50% in the Surgical ICU is a testament to his expertise.

Benjamin's commitment extends beyond the walls of the hospital. He has been an integral part of global medical missions, volunteering in countries like Nepal, Egypt, Brazil, and India. His service during the Ebola outbreak at Bellevue Hospital Center in 2014 further solidifies his dedication to the field. An active member of professional affiliations, Benjamin holds positions on the board of the American Association for Men in Nursing and the New York Relief Network.

When not in the hospital or on a medical mission, Benjamin is an avid soccer enthusiast, enjoys exploring parks, playing table tennis, and indulges in airplane watching.
