Bio

Charlene (Leonard) Pringle, CPNP/AC-PC, FCCM is a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Florida/UFHealth Shands Children’s Hospital. After obtaining her Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Florida in 1996, she continued her education and obtained her Masters for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Duke University in 2001. She received her post-masters certificate for Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner from Duke University in 2002. She serves as a clinical preceptor for several universities, an item writer for the pediatric acute care nurse practitioner certification exam and a peer reviewer for several journals, including Pediatrics. She is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and is the past Chair of the section for pediatric APPs. She is an experienced clinical researcher specializing in the area of nutrition for critically ill children, with multiple investigator-initiated studies as well as serving as site PI of multiple multi-centric projects through the PALISI network. Charlene is the Director of Research for the UF PCCM Division, mentoring residents and fellows as well as coordinating and supporting all divisional research efforts through our research support professional team and student volunteers. Charlene is the creator and editor of the UF Pediatrics “PICU Essentials” smartphone app, which is available for download on our division website as well as in any app store.
