We are pleased to announce some new changes to the Society of Critical Care Medicine's (SCCM) magazine, Critical Connections. Starting with the first issue of 2027, Critical Connections will be published exclusively online.

Not being confined to printed pages will allow us to expand the content we can include in each issue and to feature and bring more value to those who the magazine is centered on: You!

Share Your Achievements With Us

We want to hear the new and exciting things happening in your career! Share your news with us and let your achievements inspire others in the critical care community. Achievements can include:

• Achieving a promotion or moving to a new job
• Obtaining grant funding
• Receiving an award
• Earning professional accolades
• Publishing your first research article
• Anything else you want to share!

We'll feature the member achievements you share so that the rest of SCCM can celebrate what you've accomplished.

More Freedom for Articles

Critical Connections will no longer have a specific theme per issue. That means no longer having to wait until the right issue-we will accept articles on any critical care topic, all year round! Feature articles accepted explore timely topics in critical care and can include:

• Clinical topics and key developments about the latest research, challenges, or evolving practices in critical care
• Professional growth and practice-focused articles that provide practical takeaways, leadership insights, career guidance, or strategies to support critical care professionals

Success stories and member profiles highlighting a clinician or a team making a difference in critical care.
