    Colleagues,

I wanted to ensure you are all aware of two calls for proposals:

    1) The American Society for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH), the major organization for heathcare ethics consultants, bioethicists, and health humanities scholars, has issued their call for proposals for the annual meeting: https://asbh.org/annual-meeting/proposals.  This is a great opportunity to submit proposals for panel session, workshops, and/or paper presentations for the largest bioethics meeting of the year.  If you have never attended the ASBH meeting, you should consider attending this excellent and informative meeting where you will have many opportunities to learn about and discuss key issues in healthcare ethics.

    2) The American Journal of Bioethics (AJOB) has issued a call for commentaries on topics in normothermic regional perfusion (NRP): https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/uajb.  If you are not familiar with AJOB, the format of the journal is very different than most journals.  Each issue (monthly) they publish several "target" articles and open peer commentaries (OPCs).  The target articles are made public on the journal website well in advance of publication, and contributors are invited to submit proposals for OPCs based on those target articles.  If their OPC proposal is accepted, authors then submit their full OPC several weeks later, and all are published together in print and online at a later date.  If you are not familiar with AJOB, I highly recommend reading the journal.  It is a great way to get a deep understanding of complex current issues in bioethics.  Publishing in AJOB is also great because it is the bioethics journal with the highest impact factor of all journals devoted to ethics (Web of Science Impact Factor 11.229; Scopus Impact Factor 1.112; Google H Index 64), so it can be of high value in promotion and tenure reviews (of note, target articles are peer reviewed and OPCs are reviewed by the editorial team).
