Anti-Diversion Practices in the ICU/ED/Critical Care Setting

    Good morning,

I am reaching out to poll the group on whether your institution(s) require nursing to utilize lock boxes when administering controlled substances (Schedules II-V) as drips in the ICU/ED (i.e. placing a fentanyl bag/bottle in a locked container during administration). I am trying to gather some insight on whether this is a common practice in other hospital organizations/systems.

Any help is much appreciated! Please include your organization/where you work in your response if you don't mind!

    Thank you!

    Kristin
