I'd like to hear your insights on this area. Could you all share any observations you've made while using POCUS in older adults?
I'll start by mentioning a couple of mine-
Older adults often have stiff ventricles, which may contribute to conditions heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). This condition often requires careful management, including the use of diuretics, or conservative fluid management to reduce the risk of respiratory failure.
1)Understanding diastolic function is crucial in assessing and managing impending respiratory failure in the aging population.
2) In patients with Delirium, I always want to look for Urinary retention as a potential cause.
What are your thoughts?
