Why do you love being in critical care?

Critical care is where complexity meets compassion. I’m drawn to the intensity and urgency of the environment, where every decision can profoundly impact a patient’s outcome. It’s a space that demands both clinical precision and human empathy, qualities I strive to bring to every interaction. What I love most is the collaborative nature of critical care. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, I get to contribute my expertise in pharmacy while learning from others in medicine, nursing, respiratory therapy, and beyond. This synergy not only enhances patient care but also fuels my professional growth.

What is your biggest professional achievement?

My biggest professional achievement was being inducted into the American College of Critical Care Medicine as a fellow.

What advice do you have for those starting their critical care careers?

Critical care is one of the most demanding yet deeply rewarding fields in healthcare. If you're stepping into this space, embrace the complexity. It’s where your skills will be tested and your growth will accelerate. My advice is to stay curious, value the team, be present, and advocate for your patients.

What do you love about SCCM membership?

My SCCM membership has been a cornerstone of my professional growth and fulfillment. As a pharmacy leader in critical care, I’ve found tremendous value in the multidisciplinary committee work, which allows me to collaborate with experts across various specialties. These experiences have deepened my understanding of critical care and broadened my perspective on patient-centered solutions. Equally rewarding has been the networking, connecting with passionate, like-minded professionals who are committed to advancing the field. Whether through conferences, virtual forums, or collaborative projects, SCCM fosters a community that inspires innovation and continuous learning. It’s a space where I feel both supported and empowered to contribute meaningfully to the future of critical care.
