Kwame and Dr. Zimmerman,
I apologize for not being able to be on the ZOOM meeting this week. I had a conflict with having a Board of Directors Meeting with the American Red Cross and couldn't pull away. I watched the ZOOM meeting posted to the drop-box and wish thinking I wish I could have been on the call personally. I am happy to offer whatever assistance I can. I will add comments to the drop box documents where I see possibilities, but am willing to help in any other way you may need. I am SO excited to see what happens with the group. I'll post my info below so everyone knows some of my background.

We are a 12 bed multidisciplinary ICU caring for Medical, Surgical, CT/CVICU, General, and hopefully soon some Neuro ICU patients in rural Southern Ohio. We follow a model of 1 ICU Hospitalist Provider and 1 Pulm CCM doc during daylight hours along with a residency program for IM, and FM. We have myself and 1 other ACNP that rotate 7 on/off nights with a call provider available for assistance if needed and in-house Hospitalists if needed. We are a 200 bed Hospital servicing a 9 County Region! We have 3 satellite Hospitals that feed us patients from these counties. My current passion is Nursing Development, Training, Education, and Certification through the AACN for bedside Nurses. I serve on the Board of Directors for the South Central Ohio American Red Cross as well as an Ambassador for the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and participate on the Abstract Review Panel. At one time I owned and operated a non-profit Missions organization providing Nursing care to the Homeless Communities of Columbus, OH and doing work missions throughout Appalachian Southern Ohio. I LOVE the idea of learning how and what other countries do in their day to day for Critical Care. I have connections in India with some low-middle income hospitals that we may be able to distribute the survey to as well.
Thanks again for allowing me to be involved!
Blessings,
Derek Free

Dear friends,
Hope everyone is staying safe- below is the names of those who have signed themselves to a workgroup. Thank you. Friends, your engagement is very critical to us and especially patients in the low middle income countries. The various initiatives we are working on needs your helping hands, input and collaboration. If you have not sign up to join a workgroup, is not too late, reach out to me. Dr. Zimmerman and Jagila will be leading the Innovation workgroup and I will lead the partnership workgroup.
In the next couple of weeks the workgroups will be meeting. Our next general meeting will be in May. Remember, change is only possible when we believe in the power of change. Looking forward to putting our ideas into action. --Kwame
